Do people usually have one place card per couple? Or do they name out the individuals? And how about people with kids? Last Updated: 08/28/2015 |
Usually, place cards are done for each person, one person per place
card.
However, escort cards may be grouped in couples and families. The
difference between escort cards and place cards is that escort cards are
typically situated on a table near the entrance to your reception room,
listing a guest's table number. Whereas a place card is actually placed
on the table designating the seat for the individual.
If you are just assigning tables and using the cards as escort cards
then you could make them for couples and families so they know what
table to sit at. But if you are doing the traditional place cards, with a
structured seating chart and assigned seating it is recommended that
you make out each place card for each individual (including children).
Ultimately it is up to you but according to standard wedding etiquette,
place cards should be individually labeled.
